How do i make the background of my composition transparent?
I am trying to delete out a background on one of my videos…I have some text animation, but the composition settings has a background…i have no layers to this…just the text and composition….is there anyway i can make the composition background transparent when i render it so when i play it back via flash media it will no contain the black background, just the text, and text only? And keying only seems to get rid of the background of layered videos leaving the composition background always there…How do i remove this??

the background in AE is transparent, you just have to have the correct render settings.
As in the post a few down;
check your alpha channel by clicking on the little white square at the bottom of the comp window (next to the red/blue/green little square). You should see a black and white matte of your text shape. Good.
Now add to the render queue and choose a format that supports alpha channels. I’m not sure which formats Flash supports with alpha, but for video I choose Quicktime animation. Make sure that in the render settings RGB + Alpha is selected.Michael Duff –
