How do I Log & Capture in FCP 7 using a Sony Hdr Fx 1000

Firewire cables do go bad sometimes but I think it is rare. Sometimes, I find its the order of what is plugged in and turned on, and what is already hooked up when you start FCP that affects if a camera is recognized. The Sony needs to be in deck mode, certainly, for this to work, as well. Start it playing out by hand, then, try the different settings in log and capture until you see the screen pop into picture.
