    Hi guys,

I need to live stream an event and was wondering if anyone knows the best workflow to do this using the HVX200? I own an HVX200, but it’s been years since I last used it and feel out of the loop as to what knew advances have been made in technology. Also, any recommended websites/software to use for live streaming? Someone recommended Google Hangouts but not sure if this is best…

Also, the computer that I used to use to transfer the P2 cards is broken, so how else can I get the footage off the cards and onto my computer? I have a Macbook Pro with 2GHz Intel Core i7, 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3, running OS X 10.9.1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

First if you want to stream your HVX without having to make any purchases but in a “webcam” type mode you can switch it over to tape mode and link to your computer via firewire. This will allow you to stream but only in SD. Tape mode only allows you capture SD so if HD is what you are after you will need other options. If you want to stream HD you could always get a converter from Component to HDMI and then use something like the Live Stream Broadcaster. I am not 100% sure if that would work but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

Lastly you can use your HVX as a capture device if you need to import your footage from your P2 cards. You can do this either by Firewire or USB, you just need to change the setting in the menu depending on which way you want to hook up to your computer.

    Good Luck

SD would work fine. What is the step-by-step procedure to get it live streaming on youtube though? I have been trying, but haven’t had much luck. Thank you!

hey all – in these times of covid increased video conf I was looking to unpack my old HVX200 to use as a webcam perhaps. I can’t seem to get zoom to pick it up as an input option despite playing around w settings. it is out through the firewire and through adapters into my MacBook Pro usb-c.

    any ideas?

Check out free OBS Studio. It’s easy to stream to YouTube from anything.

I am using OBS and I also want to use a live feed from my HV200 to stream. I saw a video showing how to output a live signal from the Firewire output to a Mac using Veescope Live, but I would like to know if I could do this from the USB 2.0, so to broadcast from my PC. Thanks
