  • How do I get the presets to show up in Compressor?

This is going to be a silly question to those who work with this program all the time, but when I go from Final Cut’s “export using Compressor” I get a window that has presets and locations, but when I start up the program independently the layout is different and for the life of me I can’t find in the menus for the program how to get that window with the presets to show up. I’ve checked under “Window” and “View”, what to me were the logical places to look, but I’m either dumb and missed it or it isn’t there.

There’s got to be a simple explanation and I’m sorry about not figuring this out myself, but could anyone out there tell me the easy way to get the window with the presets to show up when I start Compressor by itself?

    Thanks ahead of time.

If you are using Compressor 3, you can go under the Window menu and choose Layouts > Standard 1440 x 900. This will place the Settings window in the lower left. Alternately you could choose Window > Settings or Command 3.
