  • How do I get pulldown putting a 23.98 comp into a 29.97 comp?

Just as the subject says, I’ve got a 23.98 composition that I’ve carefully timed out. I’d like to create a 60i mov file in the end, which means I need proper 2:3 pulldown applied. Is there any way to get pulldown when you put a 23.98 comp into a 29.97 comp, or do I just render the 23.98 comp?

    Thanks, y’all!

60i, you’d need to render the 23.976 comp, setting the render settings to field render and selecting a pulldown cadence.

if your comp is 23.98, make sure to set it to 23.976 fps before rendering, 23.98fps is not an accurate frame rate it’s just a shorthand name (kind of like a 2-by-4 is not actually 2 inches by 4 inches).

Haha, yeah I was actually using 23.98 as shorthand! My comp and settings are all 23.976

    Thanks for the help!
