    I am in final cut pro 7 trying to export my EDL (which I have never done nor know anything about) for another editor to take and attempt to drop into avid.

    FILE>EXPORT>EDL. CMX-3600 is the most common standard. But EDLs only reference one video track at a time, so if you have layers, you will have to do multiple outputs. And to target what track the EDL refers to, you move the V1 tab next to to the timeline to the track you want.
