  • how do i export a movie? (what codec should i use?)

Posted by Shamway on April 23, 2005 at 10:33 am

i have a 1.5 minute 720×576 pal movie i made in afeter effects and premier.
now i try to export it, but i just can’t get it right.
i tried export it as avi with all codecs, but the files are allways big, and the movies as problems.it sttuter and get green blocks and other intureps whenever there is fast motion and movement.
i tried to export it as a quicktime sorensson codec, and the file ended up being 240MB and it stutters(maybe because the file is huge)
what settings should i make in order to have a movie that looks good with a normal size?
    thank’s

What is the intended output? DVD? Archive? Web? Tape? You have to give us a little more info.

I hope the stuttering and green blocks are not on the original footage.
Windows Media Video 9 is the most efficient codec going.
File>Export>Adobe Media Encoder…choose Windows Media as the Format and then WM9 PAL download 256 and/or 512 for the web. Then make a custom setting with 2.1 mbps for archive.
