    hey there

i was just wondering about how to do reflections in after effects…. like in the animations in the link below, there is a subtle reflection underneeath the streams…ive managed to make similar streams using particular and have them running along a solid, but when i bring in a light there is no reflection. im guessin this is because its not a full 3d application, but what would people say is the best way to do this? would u need to use a 3d program for best results? or is flipping the layer and changing the blur etc, the best option?

    thanks in advance!

Apple has seemed to corner the market in reflections…when I do a reflection,I simply precomp my footage, and add a flipped version, possibly a ramp as a luma matte to give it that “fade away” look…

… with maybe a slight blur to the flopped copy.
