    Hey Guys,

Just wondering if you could take a look at the link below and let me know your thoughts on this project.

I need to have the comp set up similar to this with the wine bottles in 3D space, each with its own reflection. The problem is…to help sell the reflection I have set the opacity down to 25%, by doing that however, the reflection of the other bottles behind can be seen. (Towards the end of the comp) I know that in a ‘practical’ set up, you would probably see the two reflections blend together but I’m hoping to have them cover each other without any blending..

I’ve thought about pre-composing the reflection layer or taking the still into Photoshop to create the reflection there but i’m sure you guys will have a faster solution.

Many thanks in advance….hope it all makes sense.

    Cheers

you can make a copy of the “25% reflected” layer. put it right above the layer you want to cover up and use it as a track matte. and remember to turn the transparency back to 100% for the track matte layer

i did this on alot of projects…it’s a simple fix but you do get into some problems if you got multiple layers you want to cover because each layer can only have one track matte
