    FxFactory from Noise Industries is where I would start. Also, check for FCP X filters and transitions on Youtube for a number of free options.

    That is a crack up that the video look that we tried so hard to avoid just a few years aog is being used here as nostalgic!

    Actually this isn’t that hard to achieve. Just shoot interlaced 29.97 with a tiny aperture. Using a little consumer HD camera should do it. You could probably get a decent simulation with a DLSR at F20 and the sharpness up all the way. Then in post blow out and oversaturate your whites. Lift your blacks to 10% or so.

    There are plenty of free glitches around, or just make your own in motion. Here is a little tutorial:

    Create the camcorder text with a LED font and a thick black stroke, with pure white fill.

    Of course to make it truly nostalgic, nobody used to cuss in music videos, so you’ll need to loose the middle school potty language in the song and you’ll be good. 😉
