  • How do I create h264 .ts files?

Posted by Jon Eriksson on May 18, 2012 at 7:35 am

A client wants me to encode videos to h264-files with a .ts-file extension. They are to be played on some hd-tv system that needs .ts files.

Does anybody know how to encode such files?

I’ve been all over google trying to find an answer, please help

I figured it out myself. So if anybody ever wounder how its done here it is:

There is no app that will let you encode a videofile to a .ts

You will have to encode the file to a video-only mpeg-file and the sound to a sound only acc-file. You can do that with compressor or adobe media encoder.

then yo need a multiplexer app to mux those two streams to a .ts-file. A good such app is: VideoReDo

    cheers

    Hi Jon-
I need to do the same thing. I found xilisoft video converter ultimate can create .ts files. I just tried it and seems to work but I couldn’t get it change to a custom resolution size beside the 4 or 5 presets they have. I will look into your method as well to see how that works.
