  • How do I control which layers are affected by a light?

Posted by Malcolm Desoto on June 22, 2007 at 7:00 am

    Okay, pretty basic question…I think.

Basically, I just want my wood floor to be unaffected by the light.

    Without the light on:
    house

    With the light layer on:
    house w light

As you can see, my hardwood layer is above the Light layer:
    layers

How do I exclude this layer from the light?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

selecting a 3D layer and hitting AA will reveal it’s 3D material properties. One of those properties is Accept lights (on/off).

BTW – hitting AA on the camera reveals all of the camera properties.

AA is the special “reveal 3D properties” command in AE.
