  • How do I add a point with the keyboard.

Posted by Corey Whitley on November 22, 2006 at 8:00 pm

I’ve found in Sony Vegas 6 that the keyboard functions aren’t very well layed out. Is there a command key to add a point or can I create the keyboard layout myself?

    Thanks

Options – Preferences – Keyboard tab. Reassign as desired. Overall, I like the default settings.

I have tried this as well, but do not see an option for assigning an “Add Point” keyboard function. Every time I have to add a point on the audio envelope I have to do it by right clicking and then selecting the “Add Point” button. It is not very accurate. Does Vegas have a different name assigned to this function?

    Thanks again.

A script can do that for you.

Left button, just double click on the envelope. If you then want fine movement control hold the Alt key for sliding the point left-right and the Ctrl button for sliding the key point up-down. Very precise .dB adjustments available in Ctrl up-down mode.
