You don’t say what OS you have, but I’m on the PC. From Vista on, you can right click the font, and choose install, and it will find the Windows/Fonts directory and install it for you. I’m sure it’s about as simple on the Mac, but you’ll have to figure out the specifics unless a Mac user weighs in here. Here’s a link to a free version of Frutiger:

One thing to bear in mind when you get “free” fonts. They don’t always include the full character set, and they don’t always include the full family of the font (bold, italic, semi-bold, etc.). You may want to have your client make it clear just which version of Frutiger he/she wants. It will save you some time. Frutiger was designed originally for airport signage, so there’s a full family of weights and styles:

The above will show you just some of the variety – have the client make it clear which one they want.

October 17, 2012 at 8:24 pmfunny you should mention that font i just needed the same one..There is a “free” Bold version floating around the internet, but it seems to be a copyright rip off…..Adobe sells the entire family of that font on line for 25 dollars each……I went the legal route…someone spent time creating and copyrighting it — we are in the creative business — help the creators keep creating!
