    Hello all,

    Here is the link: https://www.shauncollings.com/

Then click on the following commercial: NewStyle Products | hunter douglas

At the very end, three trees appear. They kind of grow and spin on at the same time.

I have seen the ‘Making Elements Grow’ tutorial on the Cow, but I don’t think that’s how this was done.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hi N,

I have looked at this over and over and I don’t see a “spin” as the three trees come up. Frame by frame it appears that a mask is animating open and that the trees get thicker which could be done by choking the alpha and animating it open. Or animating it in a traditional sense with “sequential” images that get thicker. It appears that maybe the tree trucks are spinning but they are animated separately.

Just my 2 cents as I look at this frame by frame. But if I were challenged to recreate those last few frames, it could be done 2d.

    I have to agree with don, i don’t think it’s 3D.

I realize this is an old tutorial, but you might get some idea’s from Mark Simpson’s Growing a Tree tutorial:
