What would be a good method to create an animated “aura” around an actor.

Basically, I want to shoot an actor doing a few actions, then rotoscope out the actor and create an animated aura that responds to his actions. I want to output the final comp to vector graphics/FLV or SWF.

Kind of like dealing with mocap and 3D models I guess.

    Any help would be good.

Are you talking about a basic outline, or a glow?

I’m talking about a 3D glow, that is animated to ripple at the edges and fluctuate in flare lengths.

I’ve got great ideas on how to get a glow, but none that will work terribly well in a vector based program.
