  • How copy/paste a text into Title Tool without taking over the Font & Size

Posted by Sascha Engel on January 20, 2016 at 3:26 pm

    Hi Everybody,

a Question to a problem, that annoys me for quiet a while:
When I have a WORD doc with Subtitles, and I wanna copy/paste the text into the FCPX Title Tool,
it also copies the Font & Font Size of the WORD Doc(which it did not back in 7).
Now I ALT + Drag Copy the title clips and then just copy paste the new text in.
But since it copies also the Font & Font size, and erases my specific outline settings, I have to redo this for each sub,
    which is extremely annoying.
Any idea how I can copy only the text, not it’s attributes?

    Greetings,

    Sascha

Where are you pasting? Into the inspector or into the viewer? One of the two doesn’t copy font info.

When you paste it into the Inspector’s text field, it keeps the font and size that was chosen in the text tool of FCPX.
If you paste it into the viewer Canvas directly, it keeps the font and size of the original copied text.

You can also select the text in the viewer, right click and select “Paste and Match Style”.

Please, specify in what way the spelling changes.
