How can I trim my VideoHive template to only the first 8 seconds?

go to the 8 second mark with the CTI and press “n”.

Now hit crtl + alt + m. And render it out to your desired format with media encoder.

Change your work area to only include the 8 seconds you want.
Changing the length of your work area or changing the length of your composition will be covered in any good set of AE beginner tutorials. You will get frustrated trying to work with AE if you don’t go through something to get yourself a decent foundation. I recommend this set of resources: https://adobe.ly/AE_basics

the most common way would be to move the cti to 8 seconds in the timeline and then type the ‘n’ key.

or, when you render, click the render settings, click ‘custom’ in the lower-rightish and set :08.00 as the end…. but that’s a lot of clicks
