How can I set up Compressor to keep auxiliary timecode?
When I use Compressor to compress to prores proxy (for offline edit) it creates quicktimes without the auxiliary timecode that I have put on the full res quicktime files.
(I need the aux tc to efficiently sync and multiclip with several other cameras.)
I’ve been adding the aux timecode after compressing, but for some reason the software I’m using to read LTC and add aux tc (FCP AUX) does not always recognize LTC on the prores proxy versions as it does on the original quicktimes.

Use the MEDIA MANAGER. That will keep the metadata.

You should send me a testclip of an original and transcoded file.
If all is well, the transcoded file has the same audio and it ‘should’ work just fine! (or i will fix it…)
Now if you transcode audio to something lossy that can be a problem, and i can’t help it. But a proxy (imho) should have the HQ audio, so you don’t have to redo all the sound if you go to finishing.If that can’t be done, Shane has the answer…
