  • How can I see a multicam clip’s original timecode

Posted by Steve Sweitzer on May 3, 2014 at 3:28 pm

I’m trying to read the original timecode from a clip within a multicam clip but the TC zeros at the beginning of the multicam when I create it.

Longer story. I burn timecode into an interview clip and share it with a client. They pick their bites. Now I combine that clip with other camera angles to make my multicam but, after I lay the multicam into the timeline, I can’t find the bites the client picked using the original clip. Is there a way to see the original TC in clips once they are in a multicam clip?

    2 options:
    • Make a new multiclip in which you set the correct starting TC. copy all clips within one angle, paste into the new multiclip’s angle. Keep doing it angle by angle.

    • If you don’t want to make a new multiclip with correct TC, you can go into range mode (“r”) and hover your mouse over a clip to read its embedded TC.
