  • How can I replace a clip in timeline with the same clip and audio?

Posted by Héber Simeoni on April 28, 2012 at 10:51 pm

    Hello everybody.

In the premiere I dragged a lot of clips with video, but not with audio and in the source panel every clip I used a specific area selected.

Is there a way to replace the clip with the same clip, now dragging together the audio but using the same selected area in the source panel defined in the timeline?

    Please, tell I didn´t make a big mistake…

    Thanks!

You could just drag the correct audio to the timeline and then link your origional video to this new audio. You will then get a box on the audio clip showing how much out of sync it is, click on this and it will allow you to slide it into its correct sync position, then just trim the in and out points to match the video. It takes longer to explain how to do it than it takes to do it!

Thanks Ann Bens, it helped me.

But my big problem is that every clip in my timeline have no audio clip linked. And I´d like to replace some clip with the same clip in the same in point and out point but linked with audio.

Am I expecting too much from premiere?

    Thanks.

    OK, try this:
Select video clip in Timeline and hit M for Match Frame.
This will open the clip (video and audio) from the Project Window in the Source Monitor (SM).
Now you can drag the clip to the TL.
