That’s a chroma key. V1 would have the background, V2 would have the graphic behind him, V3 would be the guy keyed from greenscreen so he appears over the bkg & rear graphic and V4 would have the foreground graphic.

I would disagree with the chroma key. CHris is on to it, they simply made a still frame, rotoscoped the guy and moved him up in 2.5D space from the background and put a few different layers between him and the BG. You can tell, look at his left shoulder after the text goes by, you can see the mask line.

There is also a freeze frame going on.

    Have a wonderful day.

This is a very easy effect to do and it doesn’t use a green screen. You can’t do it in Final Cut you need to use Motion or After Effects. Make a 3 to 5 second freeze frame of the part of the video you want to use…drop it in after effects or motion then double the layer and using the biezer tool garbage matte the person on layer 2 after you cut out your person any video you put above layer 2 will cover up the person garbaged matted any clips you put between layer 1 and 2 will be behind the person garbaged matted. Experiment with differnt color effects textures and motion to get the look you want..good luck

Agreed. I would make freeze frame, bring it into photoshop and put the subject on his own layer. Then make each word on a new layer, under and over the subject, respectively. If you actually spent 10 minutes on it, you should be able to pull it off twice as good as the example given…

    Good Day

You’re right. The guy’s a still and masked. If there are a lot of this kind of scene, it might be simpler to do it on greenscreen than all that rotoscoping – unless you like doing that.

“You can’t do it in Final Cut you need to use Motion or After Effects.”

False. You can achieve this soooo easily in FCP! You just need a fundamental knowledge of Photoshop.

Now dont get me wrong, you shouldnt use FCP for this, but it’s possible and convenient.

I did the titling at the end entirely in FCP and photoshop. Should have spent more time on it, but oh well, it was my first time.

    Good Day

What I meant by you can’t do this in final cut is that in additon to final cut another application would have to be used also like motion or photoshop like you just said you did
