How can I make my footage look like it is shot on a phone?
Hi there, I’m editing a short film and part of one of the scenes is someone filming the action on their iPhone. I want to add the record/stop button and a basic timer (minutes and seconds) that counts upwards and maybe a small view finder to the footage to show that this we are looking through the phone. I’ve looked online for some help but it is all for the other way around (making phone footage look like film) and so I wondered if anyone could help me out at all?

Is this question for real?
Make a Color Matte, and add a circular mask. Put it at the bottom of the frame. Record button.
Then add the Timecode effect to an Adjustment Layer. Move it wherever you want in the frame.
Jump into Photoshop, and create the viewfinder marks. Bring it into Premiere.
Or, if you only have Premiere, use the Legacy Title tool, and create the viewfinder shapes in that.

As a followup–ask yourself whether you’ve ever seen phone footage where this stuff is actually baked into the video. I don’t think I have. Why not just do a vertical crop on it?
