  • how can I import and play 1080p at 60fps

Posted by Dave Rogers on December 15, 2010 at 7:13 pm

I have some footage shot at 1080p at 59.94 fps those are the setting son the camera and I have checked the file with mediainfo.

When I drop it into premiere it says its 1080p at 29.97fps. If I tell premiere to interpret the footage as 59.94fps it then plays back at twice the speed.

I have tried making sequences at 29.97 and 59.94fps but the clip plays double speed in both sequences.

    Thanks for any help

Are you sure that it’s 60 frames per second, and not 60 *fields* per second (which is actually 30 frames per second)?

What is the make and model number of the camera you used?

Looks like MediaInfo is incorrect. I’ve had it get confused with interlaced footage before too. According to the Sanyo site, that camera captures 1080i60, which is 60 *fields* per second, resulting in 30 frames per second interlaced. “1920 x 1080 (60 fields/s 12Mbps)”
