How can I get that corrupted look in after effects?
I have a friend who wants a distorted look to some parts of his film. He was kind enough to give me an example, from Watch Dogs. Basically the parts that seem corrupted.

If you don’t mind paying for a plugin BadTV will get you there.
Otherwise, I would look at mosiac effects, displacement maps, fractal noise and probably a lot more.

That’s ‘datamoshing’, googling it will bring up various tutorials and people complaining about it being overplayed and cliche 😀
You can’t do it directly in AE without plugins but you can do it with free software and import it.
