    how can i can sort of disable it and what is its use? they are taking up room on my desktop

    They are the audio waveform files, and are generated in the same directory as the media, so you must have your media on your destop as well.

    um………why would you NOT want the audio waveform?

    also, if you be storing your media files on your desktop, that might not be as efficient as storing them on a separate drive – ie slower performance, IMHO

    Well it shows up as a blank file, when i delete it, nothing happens to my vegas project, just it comes back up when i open vegas

    When no .sfk is present, Vegas builds another one.

    Ok, the .SFK file is a graphical representation of the waveform for your audio. ALL media files that contain audio opened in Vegas will have one. It is used to speed up the drawing of the waveform on the timleline.

    You may safely delete all .SFK files on your hard drive. The next time that file is accessed, it will be automatically re-created. You cannot turn that off.
