I’m new to mac and FCP and I successfully imported a jpeg into the FCP program. Except when I dragged it into the timeline the picture was to large to fit the screen and on the timeline the picture had a red line over top indicating it needed rendering…

I was having troubles with windows media files in FCP too, it would say needs rendering but that would take forever and sometimes not even work. But I found if I exported the media files in QT first then I could import them and they wouldn’t need any rendering at all.

So I want to know if/how I can re-size the pictures or whatever it is I have to do so I can forgo the whole “rendering” fiasco and simply have a picture import into the timeline without any complications.

    Thank you,
    Will
