How can I export my Timeline in to seperate Clips?

You could get there by using media manager on the sequence. It would create a new sequence and set of clips that are only what are in that sequence. Click the options “delete unused media” and choose copy, and create a new project file.

Well I tried Media Manager but strangely enough it does not work.

Any other suggestions? Cant be so hard.

You can use Media manager of the sequence

Media settings
Copy
UNSELECTED – Include master clips outside selection
SELECTED – Delete unused media from duplicated items
(set handles if you want them)

The naming of the clips are tied to the actual clip name or what you rename the clip within FCP bins.

Project
Selected, and it will put all the clips in a media folder.

I just user in and out marks on the time line to output sections or clips.

the Media Manager WONT work if all your clips are contiguous.
that is, if you have simply BLADED a longer clip in the timeline,
and each frame naturally follows the previous one.

this can also happen if you have been working form the viewer and your new in point is the next frame on from your last out point.

MM will do the most EFFICIENT export, joining clips back together into one file.

one approach is to select every second clip,and raise them to a new track.
Media Manage the two tracks seperately

another way to get around MM is to remove TWO frames from every edit.
ONE frame only doesn’t seem to work, as M will always ADD a frame to your selection.
so if you remove TWO frames from your timeline, you’ll really only lose on as you get one back.
weird!
but if you need eery frame, then this is not for you.

another way is to copy all your timeline clips into a new bin,
then BATCH EXPORT.

if your clips are all the same name batch export will not like that.
you would have to rename them manually.
but best to select all the timeline clips, right click and “make independent clip” first.
