  • How can I easily convert 44100 Hz Audio to 48000 Hz?

I have always been using 44100 Hz as my input setting. I understand it is preferrable to use 48000 Hz for use in DVD StudioPro so I am now using the 48000 Hz input for audio.

The problem is I have a lot of music files that I access and use on my projects that are in 44100 Hz format. I just tried to open a music folder and drag a selection to my new program that is 48000 Hz and I got the message that I can’t mix types in the same program.

My question is: is there an easy way to convert my 44100 music to 48000? I want to avoid re-importing everything I already have in files that is 44100 Hz.

Do I open my folders, choose a file, export it, and then re-import it with my hardware import settings set to 48000 Hz for the conversion?

    Thanks for any help,

Why not burn your music files to CD then import the tracks from CD into your new program?

    Hi Jerome,

Set your hardware prefs to 48K. Use the import tool to re-import the audio file you want from the media drive. In the import dialogue, select “convert to 48000 Hz”
