How can I do this with layers in Adobe After Effects?
Let’s say I have footage of a red circle moving up and down and the background is transparent. Let’s also say that I have another piece of footage of the same red circle with the same motion, but it has a motion trail or some sort of effect applied to it. I want to combine the two pieces of footage into 1 clip. Meaning, I want to take the regular red circle moving up and down and the red circle with effects applied and overlay them together. The “Add” effect does accomplish this between the two clips, except that the red circle is now added over the old red circle, changing its color. What I’m trying to accomplish here is keying out the effect on the clip and applying it to a new one. In the example I gave, I specified that 1 clip had motion blur and 1 clip did not (everything else being the same). I want to key out the motion blur some how and apply it to the regular clip. I’m not sure if there are any blending modes that will accomplish this.
