I tried to achieve this effects with particules but couldn’t succeed so well. Do u think it can be done in AE or does it require 3d software ?

June 12, 2006 at 3:21 pmWell, yeah, I think its possible with AE but I’m not professional enough to tell you how.
What I would say is, that I don’t think this would be great to do with particular but with the lightning effects AE has (or try the ones from the Gen-Arts Sapphire Plugins) in combo with a write-on effect or masking to get the lightning into the position and movement you want.
Perhaps you should try these effects first and play a bit with them. Once you know all the Effects and Actions AE can do, you sure can think up some ways to achieve this.
Just my 1 german cent…

June 13, 2006 at 8:08 amI am trying to do it with trapcode particular and the results are not to bad. I could mix this with 3d stroke to get it better..
I couldn’t achieve the same effects with lightning bolt, but it’s an interesting look that could help me in my purpose.Thks for help.

June 13, 2006 at 3:33 pmThe base of the effect could be replicated easily with 3D stroke. however i don’t think they have used this as they have a fractal type effect coming off the stroke at certain times.
i’d steer clear of lightning; it isn’t a good look and definately not what they used here.
For the purposes of; 3D stroke is the winner.
