    Hello~

    I am trying to cut out a region out of the whole video (simolar to the crop thingie in virtual dub, when you set up the desired “shape” of the video). Is it possible in AE?

    Here is an example of what I mean by cropping a region from a video:

    Go to Composition Settings and set it to the size you want your final video to be. Then scale your layer(s) accordingly.

    Alternatively, you can use the Region of Interest tool to draw a box around the area you want to keep, then select Crop Composition to Region of Interest.
