    Hi everyone or anyone,
Each year, I create an end of the year slideshow for the Jr. High at which I teach. I love to create Hollywood style openings for the show using Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. I am currently attempting to create an opening similar to that of Superman I (with Chris Reeve) including the flying text with glowing trail letters. I cannot figure out how to create an effect similar to that of the one used in the movie. If anyone could lend some advice, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Well, if you are looking for the 3D text look, you will probably need a 3D application, although I’m sure it could be achieved with the “Shatter” effect, using extrusion settings.

More likely though you will need 3D invigorator, or any 3D application (“Blender” is free).

For the glowing trail, you can use CC radial fast blur, or the Trapcode Shine plugin.

Just basing this on my recollection of the superman opening… been a while 😉

    Cheers,

    Vince

    Vince,
Thank you for your response. I’m going to try your suggestions. It seems like a more complicated project for the timeframe I have to work within, but isn’t that what makes these kinds of projects fun?
    Thanks again!
