    I think those effects were created in camera with snap zooms and whip plans along with careful shot planning to create some graphical/color matches. You can recreate snap zooms in AE by just keyframing scale very quickly over 6 to 8 frames and turn on motion blur.

    Whip pans are a little more difficult, but here’s a tutorial that covers it.
