I have a frame around a picture (it’s actually a family crest) and in making the frame there is some blur which bleeds onto the content inside the frame. I’ve tried creating a clipping mask using a shape the same as the area inside the frame but that cuts out the frame as well. I’m not sure how to do this while keeping the frame as the top layer (with the contents of the crest on lower layers).

The frame is made of many layers to make it look 3d (highlights, shadows, etc) but the blur from the highlights is extending beyond the edges of the frame and I need to clip that out somehow.
