How are you calibrating external SDI displays?
Please don’t reply with “Use a pre calibrated display”, I have them. But I also have several client monitors (large LED displays) fed with an SDI signal converted to HDMI coming out of the edit apps via BMD output boxes.
The Spyder and other display calibration tools require the OS be displayed in order to cycle through the colors on the display and it will NOT attach to a black magic card, and since BMD in their infinite wisdom killed off Extend Desktop, there appears to be no method to properly calibrate an external display using a color probe device.Ideally I would output pure white, black and pure colors via premiere and have a probe give me a read of what to manually adjust on the display.
What are you using to calibrate an external edit output display?
