Does anyone know how easy it would be to get AE to render out a file at hourly intervals?

If we create a nested composition, and one layer is linked to a text file or spreadsheet that is updated by a client on an exhibition stand, could AE be set up to render out a new graphics sequence every hour? This file would then replace one on a network drive that a playback machine would access and display on their LED video wall….

    Is this theoretically possible?

It sounds to me that it’s possible with something like Windows Task Scheduler and the AE Watch Folder. You don’t say what platform you’re on, but I’m sure the Mac has some sort of scheduling software built in, or available. I would guess that if, as you get your update done, you drop it in the Watch Folder, then you have Task Scheduler (or whatever software you’re using) copy the new sequence to the network drive.
