Hotkey to extension field
Hi!
I am working on an extension for after effects and I am searching for a way to set a hotkey that will “activate” the my docked extension panel and then jump to an entryfield within the panel.
That might sound easy, but actually I talked to a lot of developers and all of them said it is impossible. It would only work for a script with an non dockable UI panel. Is that true? Isn´t there any workaround for this seamingly easy task?

It should be possible but since I mainly have experience with customizing panels within Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas to some extend, I found a video that shows how to undock panels and moving them anywhere you wish. Let me know if it helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiJW2Aegqmw

So thanks for the link, but “How to undock panels?” is not really what I was looking for. My question was more: “How to activate an extension panel with a hotkey?”
