hotkey for opening project-window clip in source window?
Hi all
I’m an editor who prefers [nearly] mouseless editing. This of course requires a lot of hotkeys and, for the most part, I have configured PPro into a hotkey paradise. But one thing I’m still missing: I can’t find a way to take a clip in the project window and open it in the source window (other than double-clicking it, which is what I’m trying to avoid, as it slows me down, esp when dealing with hundreds of clips).You’d think the Enter keys would do this by default, but they are used for naming clips/bins. And I can’t find a custom hotkey function for this. Anyone know of a solution? Thanks!

Hi Ben,
It is on the panels section in Keyboard Shortcuts “Open in Source Monitor”. Maybe you can use Right Arrow?
And Shift+1 back to project panel. -

Ah ha – good one. But has anyone found away to select a clip in the timeline (without using the mouse) and trim the out point, and the in point of the next. In FCP you would use the V key to select the nearest edit point folioed by to select the out point or UU to select the in point (of the next point). All very handy for mouse free trimming…

I think “exted edit” is as close as you will get.
