Is there a hotkey for making a frame for the selected layer/property at the current time?

IOW, I just don’t want to have to mouse over to the damn “make a key” icon every frackin’ time.

    Thanks.

With CS5, you can switch on the Auto-animate button in the Timeline. But it creates more problems should you only want to edit a value without wanting a keyframe. issues crop up when you make multiple edits to the property at different times cos you will end up with LOTS of keyframes.

The old school way as Dave has pointed you to works well.
