Anyone know a way to speed this up?

I’m on CS6 in my Windows installation in boot camp (I need to be in windows, as AE CS6 only supports my video card in windows at the moment and I need fast ray-tracing).

I’ve tried cranking up the horizontal speed in the mouse settings. I’ve tried installing the Logitech driver for my mouse, which had the effect of removing continuous scrolling and gives me scrolling in very small increments, i.e. I have to keep clicking the horizontal scroll to get the timeline to do anything.

It’s probably important to note that the horizontal scroll is actuated by tilting the scroll wheel left and right. This is the mouse I’m using.

Kind of a weird specific circumstance. I haven’t tried horizontal scrolling in OSX yet. I’m curious if anyone else is having similar issues, Windows or Mac.

    Thank you for your time.

I’m in Mac CS6 using a Kensington track ball. Scrolls very fast. Running 10.6.8 – Haven’t switched to 10.7. Waiting until I’m back home. Been on the road since September.

My frustrations are with other parts of the interface especially audio.

    Hey Wendell,

    Thanks for the response.

I just had a chance to try this out on OSX and it look like a Windows, or at the very least, a boot camp issue and it may just be something specific to my hardware.

I’m going to be happy when Adobe supports my GPU in OSX. I came from windows probably 8-9 years ago and I’m def missing a few UI things in OSX that make life a little easier. Hover scrolling inactive windows is one thing that comes to mind. I hate that I have to actually click in a window to activate it before I can actually scroll through it in Windows. The up arrow to jump the cursor to the beginning of a field is def a time saver as well and reaching with my pinky finger for the control button instead of my thumb for the command button is def less ergonomic. And then theres’ column view, being able to view folder sizes in Finder windows, spacebar to preview, etc.

    First world problems.

    Thanks again.
