    Hello,

I am using the CS4 version of Premiere Pro to create a video for an installation, for next week. The footage I captured was in AVCHD format 1440X1080i, and this was the format that my project is in.

I want to export the file so that it can be played (and looped, though I’m not sure how to do this yet) on a windows PC. I tried exporting as an m2v interlaced file I got many horizontal line artifacts, though these do not show up when I load the file into premiere only in VLC player. I was then led to understand that is because computer monitors are progressive.

Could someone suggest how I can export this file so that it can be played on a windows PC without these artifacts. I’m not too concerned about format other than which would preserve the quality best. Im sorry if this is all a little n00bish, I am new to video editing.

Try exporting it as progressive. See how that plays back.
Try also using WMV or h.264 rather than m2v.

In PPRo CS3, there’s a “deinterlace” checkbox in the export dialogue box (it’s burried behind a tab). If it’s still there in CS4, I’d say make sure it’s checked.
