Just wanted to get some thoughts about upgrading my system:

    – 8gig DDR3 1600 ram (I know I could use some more ram)
    – WD Caviar black 7200 Sata 6.0Gb/s (main drive)
    – Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost)
    – ASRock P67 PRO3 SE LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
    – EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1563-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 (while not officially supported by Adobe, adding it to the cards list enabled MPE and it works just fine)
    – 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3750640AS 750GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s RAID 0 (I had three, but one crapped out on me)

I used AJA system test on my RAID 0 and it returned about 128mbs read/write.

I have a short I’m editing that was shot on the AF100. At this point I just have a timeline with simple cuts, two tracks of video and three tracks of audio. CS6 is sluggish on loading, and seems to have trouble keeping up with my CTI if I move it two or minutes ahead, even if I’ve rendered the timeline. Takes a bit to catch up, almost like it has to re-cache the preview.
I’ve got my cache files and preview files as well as my project footage and assets all on my RAID 0 drives – is that causing the problem? Or do I need to upgrade asap?
