Honda Fury spots
Posted by Mark Suszko on May 12, 2009 at 3:20 amWOW. I have not frame-stepped thru these yet but they seem like almost all simple cuts… but yet more than that. Any opinions on them?

May 12, 2009 at 5:37 amAmazing. I just watched this one 20 times. Very structured rhythm, about 8 visually-thematic chapters, marked with revving sound.

May 12, 2009 at 2:15 pmReminds me a little bit of a sequence early in the movie “The Rundown” starring Duane “the Rock” Johnson. The scene is where he’s sizing up the offensive line of a football team before he beats all of them up in a bar. Same intersting kinetic cutting with unexpected juxtapositions.
As far as the Honda spot, I bet that took a lot of time to find all those pieces of stock footage and prepare them. The audio work is also good, subtle, but effective.

May 21, 2009 at 8:14 pmKind of reminds me of the Reebok ads from years ago. Very fast full of images, sensory overload. I like it.
A cut is a cut & a dissolve is a disolve, and not just anybody with a system is a pro.
