  • holding an object, removing the layer over the fingers

So I’ve recently come into ownership of a copy of Adobe AE. I’ve been doing the basic start up stuff (holding energy seems almost required at this point, lol) and basically I was wondering, if there’s an object that someone in the movie is holding that has been edited in via layers, how would one make it so just the fingers of the person are ontop of the object?

    Thanks in advanced ^.^

Duplicate the layer with the fingers, path it out frame by frame (rotoscope) and place that layer above the object.
