Ok, so I know I did this before, but now I can’t seem to pan a track to center.

When I go to Tools>Audio Mixer, the pan slider is grayed out, but says O (center) — however, my ears tell me the narrator is definatly Left channel only, and the FCP meter confirms this on play back.

If I highlight all the clips on the track and go to Modify>Audio>Pan Right, there is no change in the pan.

    The track is not locked.

So, how come I can’t pan the tracks, is something locked? Is the audio somehow not panable?

    Confused.

For some reason, the sequence audio settings were set to dual mono instead of stereo, hence pan was disabled. To check this, right click the sequence in the brower window (yes, of course I use a two button mouse, what do you think) and click on settings in the contexual pop-up menu, then in the dialog box, click on the audio settings tab.
