According to this FCP Apple support page… https://support.apple.com/kb/TA24840

The audio on most AVCHD cameras is mixed down to stereo automatically upon log and transfer. Does this mean that you cannot achieve 2 independent audio channels when editing with footage shot on the HMC150? Perhaps there is a preference setting in log and transfer that allows independent mono tracks. Has anyone experienced this?

    Thank you.

Perhaps this was fixed in the 6.0.5 update to FCP.

Perhaps the mix down simply refers to AVCHD cameras recording in 5.1. I’m not sure.

I’m interested in this camera, it seems very cool and well-suited to my needs. I keep hearing mixed feedback on it though, and want to make sure my decision on a camera is justified.

The user info on this camera is limited, so thanks again for the forum supporting it here!

I am experiencing this right now and am a little distraught. Hoping somebody has a work-around or an FCP update is on the way.
