Hmc 150
Soon I plan to purchase the HMC 150. The problem is, I have a Power Mac G5, and I am wondering do I absolutely have to have an intel based mac to ingest the footage. If so:
1. Could I ingest on a Macbook Pro, offline the footage, edit on my Power Mac, then uprez on the Macbook.
or
2. Ingest on a Macbook Pro, then edit the ingested footage on my Power Mac.

The HMC150 workflow requires ProRES which is Intel only. You could ingest on a MacBook Pro, then re-encode to another format for editing on the G5 but that’s a big pain in the butt. I’d just edit on the MBP.
