I installed HitFilm with serial provided. All went well with install.
Today I tried it out by applying it to an event in event and it asked for the serial number which I already went through yesterday. I entered it again and got this message:
“The serial you entered is only valid for HitFilm 2 Express, it cannot be used with this program”

Erm, when you got to the HF page did you download the DEMO or the EXPRESS?

Express for sure. Just saw another pop up box that wanted me to download an update or something so I did and when I look at that it’s the full version which I’m sure is the demo.
I think I may just pass on this one. Seems like maybe more trouble than it’s worth.

Yes, from what I’ve been reading, HF takes me away from the Vegas Timeline to do its thing, I then save, and VP is updated. It is a very stand alone FrameServer-type of 3rd Party plug that if you aren’t familiar with this type of “At-Arms-Length” compositing then it needs to be given learn-time to allow the operator to catch-up.

At present, I can’t see much in the Presets and Features, over and above that I can do within VP, that I’d need it for? Obviously there are many others who have made great stuff with it. Maybe the Ultimate has many great features.

    Cheers

    Hi Grazie,
I agree. I think I don’t need another program to learn right now especially one that has a interface that I’m not at all familiar with.

it can do some nice lens flares and the particle stuff could be cool, but I don’t think there will be much call for that in the videos I make for clients! still, a very nice freebie so I don’t want to appear negative. if it did integrate as a plugin inside vegas it would be much more viable. having to keyframe in 2 separate applications is clunky. ed
