For a museum application, where the DVD player is far away from a lecture hall, and the client wants a docent to be able to turn a wall switch and start the DVD — or indeed for any application where you want to be able to start the DVD from a black screen, by simply hitting “play” or “enter” on a remote — do you need a blank menu?

My first solution is to create a blank, black “first play” menu with no buttons, with an “end action” of the video that I want to play. The only button on the remote that starts the video is the “remote control title button.” Is that the best solution? Most people naturally press the Play button on their remotes.

Does the DVD have one title (timeline)?

You could do it more simply by not setting any First Play, and then the Play command will play your timeline.

If there is more than one timeline, make sure the title you want to play when the DVD player is stopped is the first timeline you create in the project.
